Larry P. tells his story of A Teacher Encounters Bigfoot.
I’m a 55-year-old high school teacher. I teach automotive and diesel tech. I was in the Wayne National Forest in Ohio, in Dec. 2013 and I had a two-week vacation so I decided to do some winter back-to-nature camping and hiking. My wife had just left me and I needed to get away. There was no snow and about 30 degrees, cloudy but nice. I was on an old road cut out when they built power lines and there was a valley below me and a steep grade above me. The road was cut in what I guess was once a long grade.
As I walked along I became aware of how quiet it had become. No sounds. Then I became very afraid. I really do not fear much except for my ex-wife’s lawyer. I have never been afraid in the woods and I’ve hunted since I was 12 with my dad. I’m very accustomed to being in the forest but I began to shake and feel the hairs on my neck stand up. I went to look down into the valley to see if I could see anything and out of nowhere a herd of deer came charging out of that valley. There were 14 of them and I could have touched them all. They could have cared less about me being there. Some of them never touched the road. They came climbing out of that valley and straight up the grade. At that point, I felt very silly. Deer. All that over deer. So I looked into the valley laughing and then I saw what made the deer fly out of that valley.
He, I say he because I saw no breasts was brown, black, possibly seven feet tall or a little more. He stood about 100 yards away and just stared at me. He never took his eyes off me. He was big but also slender. very broad at the chest, no neck, and massive forearms that were long. He had a long torso and shorter legs but very muscled. His face and chest were almost gray, his eyes were black. He had a lot of hair hanging off his face and head. I had a good look. A really good look and will remember it until I die.
I will never forget those eyes. It was like he was trying to say something with that look. I was frozen just taking it all in. I wanted to remember every detail because this will probably never happen again. It was only a few seconds but it seemed like hours and I was frozen. Not really scared, just frozen and amazed.
He just turned and let out a loud grunt kind of a growl and he snapped a branch off a tree and went into the thick woods. I could see branches move for a bit kind of like seeing King Kong going through the trees and then I saw and heard nothing else. At that point, I heard snapping to the left of where I watched him and I saw more movement going in the same direction as the first. There were two of them perhaps 50 feet apart and I interrupted the hunt. I never saw the second one just some movement in the trees and forest as it went. They were not happy but made no move against me.
I snapped out of the trance and ran like hell for my truck which was about a mile or so away. My head and chest hurt from the adrenaline, and I ached.
That night I checked into a motel and I ran and reran those moments over and over. I wanted to see them again. I could not then nor can I now get that face out of my mind. I know it like I know my own children.
The next day was Christmas Day and I went back to the same place and down in the valley and found nothing. No tracks nothing but some broken branches. The ground was frozen and the leaves packed.
I climbed out of the valley and back on the road and heard a tree knock echo from behind me someplace, perhaps a mile or more, who knows. There was a single knock followed by a series, very rapid knocks, a lot faster than I could make. Ahead of me again perhaps a mile or more came two quick knocks back. They knew I was back. So I tried to knock back to them and the sounds I made were pathetic compared to what I just heard. There was nothing further. I doubt there was anyone else in the forest on Christmas day.
There were other parts I wanted to explore but it snowed heavily the next two days and I had to get back home. I only told my nephew and a few very close friends about this.
I have been to several Bigfoot Conferences and told no one until last year when I met Bob Gimlin. I told him. All Bob said was, “Yes that gray face”.
Last Spring I discovered what I truly believe was a shelter. Deep, very deep in the Allegheny National Forest. It was constructed of pine branches, and leaves, it resembled an igloo with a small entrance and about six feet tall in the center. You would have had to get on your hands and knees to enter it and it was perhaps eight to ten feet round. It looked old and smelled bad. I mean it smelled like a dead body and excrement so I did not enter. It may have been a winter home.
Yes I’ve seen and heard some things and they are unforgettable. This is the first time I’ve officially wrote of these things and I won’t disclose the exact locations. I want them left alone. Believe what you want, I require nothing. God has certainly created some amazing creatures.
